Why choose a UKSBS Apprenticeship
An apprenticeship isn't just training. It's a proper job, with structured learning built in.
You'll get stuck into meaningful work that supports public services across the UK, while studying towards a qualification that's valued by employers everywhere.
Whether you're fresh out of school and figuring out your next move, or ready for a complete career change, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
What to expect?
- A real role – hands-on experience and the chance to show what you can do
- Learn from the best – work alongside experienced colleagues who want to help you grow
- Time to study – protected hours for training and coursework
- A qualification that counts – industry-recognised and respected
- Your own development plan – tailored goals, regular feedback, and ongoing support
- Pay and benefits from day one – because you're a full member of the team
Most apprenticeships last between 18 and 24 months, depending on the level and area.
We advertise our apprenticeship opportunities on our careers portal and you should apply through the site if you see an opportunity that interests you.

Who can become an apprentice
Our apprenticeships are open to anyone aged 16 or over. You don't need a degree. You don't need experience in the field. What we care about is your potential – your curiosity, your drive, and your willingness to learn.
Just finished school? This is a brilliant way to get into the world of work while gaining a qualification.
Thinking of a career change? It's never too late. We welcome people with different backgrounds and life experience.
Returning to work? If you're ready to get back into a career, we'd love to hear from you.
We're based in Swindon, Stockton-on-Tees and Newport, and work with local education and training providers to find great people. Most roles are office-based, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
We welcome everyone
Different perspectives make us stronger. Our apprentices bring fresh ideas and energy that help shape who we are.
We're proud to be an Inclusive Employer and Disability Confident Employer. That means we're committed to finding the best talent and creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.

What you'll gain with a UKSBS apprenticeship
Skills that go with you.
Every apprenticeship is designed to give you skills you'll use throughout your career, wherever it takes you.
Technical know-how
You'll build specialist knowledge in your chosen area, from data analysis to HR. You'll also get confident with everyday tools like Microsoft 365, plus the systems used in your field.
Professional skills
You'll learn how to communicate clearly, solve problems, manage your time, and work well with others – skills every employer values.
How business works
You'll get an inside view of our organisation, how our relationships with our public sector clients and collaborative culture influence how we operate.
A qualification that means something
Every apprenticeship leads to a nationally recognised qualification, from Level 2 (equivalent to GCSEs) up to Level 4 (equivalent to a foundation degree).
It's proof of what you know and what you can do – and it's respected by employers across the UK.
Support all the way
We want you to do well. That's why every apprentice gets:
- A dedicated manager and buddy to guide you day to day
- Regular check-ins to talk about how you're doing
- A Personal Development Plan shaped around your goals
- Access to training and learning resources
You're never on your own.
A launchpad for what's next
Many of our apprentices go on to permanent roles here at UKSBS. Others take their skills elsewhere and build careers in new directions.
Either way, you'll finish your apprenticeship knowing your strengths, with the confidence to take the next step.
